Based on the estimated construction timeline, Phipps Ocean Park will be closed to the public from May 1 through October 1, 2026. The racquet center and associated parking area have reopened for patrons of pickleball and tennis only. The south end of the park and/or beach access will not be open to the public until project completion.  Courts may be booked online through the Recreation Department's Play by Point portal , or for more information, visit the Recreation Department's booking page.

The park is undergoing a $30M renovation, which is primarily being funded by the Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach. 

The project is expected to take approximately 18 months, starting May 1st. The tentative completion date is around November 2026.

The Tennis Center upgrades have a shorter project schedule than the broader park renovations. Once those improvements are complete and safety can be ensured, the Tennis Center can operate separately from other ongoing work. 

The Seaview Tennis Center will be open throughout the renovation.  

Beach access at Phipps Ocean Park will be closed alongside the park. Residents seeking beach amenities are encouraged to use other municipal or county beach access points until the park reopens. 

The project area will be cordoned off with fencing, and signage will be posted to ensure the public stays clear of construction zones. No unauthorized individuals will be permitted access during construction. 

Portions of the parking areas may be used for construction staging. Expect temporary closures in the immediate vicinity. Additional updates on traffic flow or potential detours will be provided if needed. 

Construction will likely cause some noise and activity. However, the Town and contractors will adhere to local noise ordinances and work to minimize disruptions. 

The Town will share updates via its website and social media channels. You can also attend Town Council meetings or sign up for public alerts to receive the latest news. 

Please report any suspicious activity or potential hazards to local authorities immediately. Safety remains the top priority.
