A Dewatering ROW Permit would be required to discharge into the roadway or alleyway. All water entering the street goes out to the Lake Worth Lagoon. Discharges are regulated for chemicals and sediments. The Dewatering ROW Permit can be found online under the Town Building Department, EPL. Permits@TownofPalmBeach.com can assist you further.
No chemicals or sediments are allowed to be discharged into the Town's stormwater system by dewatering operations. Draining chlorinated water directly from a pool to the Town's stormwater system is prohibited; the water needs to be pretreated; i.e., discharged to the ground and pumped by a below ground dewatering system or left without any additional chlorination for at least 7 days.
The dewatering system is required to include a closed conduit (blue flex pipe) within the ROW down to a Town inlet. For the ROW permit provide a sketch of the proposed conduit system to include provisions for encountered driveway crossings, if applicable, and the inlet you desire to discharge into.
No equipment or vehicles are allowed within the ROW without a separate ROW permit, specific to the proposed work. Go to permitting system, EPL on-line to view the various ROW permit types.
