1. Who is responsible for the maintenance of my sewer lines?

The homeowner is responsible for the sewer lateral that serves their home from the house, up to and including the connection on the sewer main in the street.

2. How do I know if a sewer back-up is in my portion of the line?

If you are only having a back-up in one fixture or one part of the home than it is likely an internal issue with just that fixture and you should contact your plumbing contractor.

3. What if my entire home is backing up?

The obstruction could be on the main line that the Town maintains. You should contact the Water Resources Division at (561) 838-5440 After Hours (561) 838-5454. If it is determined by our crews that the obstruction is in the house lateral we will advise you to contact your contractor.

4. What if I have questions about my water?

The Town’s water purveyor is the City of West Palm Beach Public Utilities Department. They can be reached at (561) 822-1300 or on the web at http://wpb.org/utilities/

5. Why do I still have ponding water in front of my home after it rains?

Variations in the topography of the roads sometimes cause ponding that will evaporate in a short time. If you have ponding water 24-hours after a rain event, contact the Water Resources Division
at (561) 838-5440.
