While the west coast of Florida braces for significant impacts from soon-to-be major Hurricane Idalia, it's important to remember we haven't reached the peak of hurricane season. If you are not prepared and stocked up with hurricane season must-haves, now is the perfect time to shop for these goods as Florida is having a two-week sales tax holiday on hurricane and disaster supplies. The sales tax holiday began on Saturday, August 26 and ends on Friday, September 8, 2023. To learn more about eligible items, please refer to the Florida Department of Revenue's 2023 Sales Tax Holiday FAQ.
Also, it's important to refresh your hurricane preparedness knowledge of what to do before, during and after a storm, so please visit the Town's Hurricane Preparedness webpage.
