The Town of Palm Beach is seeking to appoint two (2) regular members to the Architectural Review Commission (ARCOM).
Both terms will expire on March 1, 2023, and one member is eligible for reappointment. At least two members, but not more than three members, shall be registered architects in the state. In the event there no applicants who are registered architects in the State of Florida, the Town may solicit and appoint architects registered outside the State of Florida to fill one of the architect seats. In addition to the two registered architects, one member of the commission shall be a landscape architect, if available. However, in the event a landscape architect is not available, then one member of the commission shall be a Master Gardener or someone with equivalent expertise in landscape.
ARCOM reviews and approves modifications to any existing structures visible from public rights-of-way, new construction, and landscaping. Members are appointed based on experience in art, architecture, community planning, land development, real estate, landscape architecture, or other relevant business, profession, or civic interest. Members of the Architectural Review Commission shall be appointed for a three-year term and may serve no more than two consecutive terms.
All citizens interested in pursuing appointment to ARCOM must complete the appropriate application for service and submit the same to the Town Clerk’s Office by Friday, March 3, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. The appointments to ARCOM will be on the agenda for consideration and potential action at the Town Council meeting on Tuesday, March 14, 2023.
