[ARCHIVED] Batter-Up! Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby

The Palm Beach Recreation Department’s Mandel Recreation Center is hosting its’ first ever Wiffle Ball Home Run Derby with all proceeds benefiting the Town of Palm Beach United Way. The Derby will take place Saturday, May 15, on the Oakley Gage Debbs Memorial Field, 340 Seaview Avenue, Palm Beach, with participants divided into four age divisions. Ages 9-12 will hit for the Major division starting at 9:00 a.m., ages 13-14 will hit in the Intermediate division starting at 9:45 a.m., ages 15-17 will hit in the Junior division starting at 10:30 a.m., and ages 18 years and older will hit in the Big League division starting at 11:15 a.m.

Registration for the Home Run Derby is $25 per participant and may be done by contacting the United Way at (561) 655-1919 or click on or copy and paste the link below into your browser. Walk-up registrations on Derby day are also welcome.

Batters may bring their own pitchers or one will be provided for you. Batters will be given 40 swings with points given for home runs and half-points for balls hit beyond the division markers. Standard yellow Wiffle ball bats and white baseball size Wiffle balls will be used. Trophies will be awarded to all 1st place division winners.
