[ARCHIVED] NOTICE TO RESIDENTS SOUTH OCEAN BOULEVARD (Mid-Town) (Gulfstream Road to Royal Palm Way)

Starting Monday, April 12, 2021, through November 2021, the Town’s contractor, Burkhardt Construction, will be installing a new watermain in the southbound lane of South Ocean Boulevard. The contractor will be working south to north, starting at Gulfstream Road heading north to Royal Palm Way. The watermain work will also include Hammond Avenue from South County Road to South Ocean Boulevard.  During Phase 1 of the construction Gulfstream Road to Worth Avenue, the southbound lane will be closed.  There will be periodic intersection closures at Gulfstream, Hammond and at Worth Avenue. Southbound traffic will be detoured west on Worth Avenue to South County around the construction. The parking on the west side of South Ocean Boulevard in the Phase 1 will be closed including the sidewalk on the west side of the road. Pedestrians will be directed around the construction. Northbound traffic, parking on the east side of South Ocean Boulevard and the sidewalks on the east side, will remain open.

As part of Phase 1, when work begins on Hammond Avenue, the north side of the road, sidewalk, and parking will be closed to facilitate construction. Eastbound traffic, along with parking and the sidewalk on the east side, will remain open as much as possible during construction of the watermain.

Please follow the construction signage and flaggers, and drive with caution when travelling through the area.
