COMMUNITY ELECTRONICS RECYCLING & DESTRUCTION EVENT

The Palm Beach Police Department Community Electronics Recycling & Destruction Event will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the South Parking Lot of Phipps Ocean Park. Identity Theft is the fastest growing crime in the world today and that makes properly disposing of confidential information even more important than ever. This event is being co-sponsored by Memory for Memory, Inc. and the Palm Beach Police & Fire Foundation, Inc.  

Memory for Memory is an electronics recycler that collects, refurbished, and securely recycles used electronics to help benefit the Alzheimer’s community. At this event, they will accept PCs, Laptops, Servers, Networking Hardware, LCD monitors, cell phones, office phones, and all other forms of IT Hardware. All Hard Drives or other storage media will be erased or destroyed as part of the recycling process. Memory for Memory is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit and will be offering their services at this event free of charge. Memory for Memory will have a hard drive crusher to use to destroy loose drives on-site should residents want to watch their drives be destroyed – the hard drive must be already removed from your computer.

NO TVs - CRT, LCD or Flat Screen will be accepted at this event. No Personal Grooming (ex: hairdryer) or household use (Microwave, smoke detector, etc.) will be accepted at this event.

A donation receipt form can be supplied for recycled items. For more information or directions, please call Palm Beach Police Community Relations Unit at (561) 838-5467. For questions regarding acceptable items or data security, please contact Memory for Memory directly at (561) 200-2862.  PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT A SHREDDING EVENT.

Residents and those with small or home businesses are welcome to take part. This event is not designed to accommodate large businesses or companies. Face coverings MUST also be worn by all persons in outdoor public places where social distancing of 6 feet or more is not possible.
