[ARCHIVED] FPL Beginning Removal of Power Poles in Phase 2 North of the Undergrounding Project

Town Seal color large paint

Starting Monday, September 21, 2020, the Town is anticipating that Florida Power & Light (FPL) will begin removal of power poles in Phase 2 North of the Undergrounding Project. Phase 2 North is from Esplanade Way to Osceola Way. The pole removal will take four (4) to six (6) weeks. The removal will begin at Esplanade Way and work south to Osceola Way. Burkhardt Construction will work with FPL to inform the residents of when the poles will be removed in their area. Due to the hurricanes in Texas and Louisiana, the crews working to remove poles have been displaced and the communications to identify schedule and immediate location of removal has been impacted. The Town did not want to delay the pole removal any longer and will communicate with the residents immediately upon notification from FPL.

During the pole removal, traffic will be maintained by MOT devices, signage, and flagman. Please be aware of traffic management and obey all signs and flaggers.

If you have any questions regarding this work, please contact Patricia Strayer, P.E. at (561) 838-5440.
