The Town of Palm Beach is seeking applicants to fill two (2) regular member positions on the Underground Utilities Task Force (“UUTF”).
The UUTF consists of eight (8) members appointed by the Town Council. The term of office is three (3) years. Appointees are required to be registered electors and residents of the Town, however, one of the members may be a non-resident of the Town provided said member has a special skill related to undergrounding. Appointees shall not be a member of another Town board or commission.
All citizens interested in pursuing appointment to the UUTF must complete the appropriate application for service and submit the same to the Town Clerk by 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2020. The appointments to the Underground Utilities Task Force will be scheduled on the agenda for consideration and potential action at the Town Council meeting on Tuesday, May 12, 2020.
The UUTF functions in a citizen oversight and advisory capacity to the Town Council for the Underground Utilities Project. The UTTF makes recommendations to the Town Council on all matters relating to the undergrounding of utilities in the Town of Palm Beach. The UUTF meets on an irregular schedule, whenever such meetings shall be called either at the discretion of the Chair and Town Manager or at the direction of the Town Council. The UUTF shall cease upon a date to be determined by the Town Council, once it is determined that the purpose of such Task Force has been accomplished.
The UUTF application can be downloaded from the Town’s website (www.townofpalmbeach.com). Please note that the Town’s website reflects specific applications for each board or commission. Applications may also be obtained by contacting the Town Clerk at (561) 838-5416.
