The new Mandel Recreation Center, expected to be completed in the fall of 2019, is under construction. The project is a partnership between the Morton and Barbara Mandel Family Foundation, the Friends of Recreation, and the Town of Palm Beach, each contributing one-third of the total cost.
The approximately 17,000 square foot concrete block structure will include a gymnasium, state-of-the-art fitness center, group exercise space, meeting and activity space, snack bar,game room/lobby and administrative offices. The project also includes a new and larger playground, updated multi-purpose field, renovated tennis pro-shop, maintenance building and a new tennis viewing pavilion.
The Morton & Barbara Mandel Family Foundation has been supporting and improving communities since 1953. The Friends of Recreation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization made up of Palm Beach residents and Recreation Department supporters.
