Captain Ann Marie Taylor

Captain Ann-Marie Taylor joined the Palm Beach Police Department on November 28, 1994. She began her career as a Telecommunicator before being appointed as Patrol Officer in 1996.  She served in the Patrol Unit and the Organized Crime Vice and Narcotics Unit.  She was also assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force from 2003 – 2010.  Captain Taylor was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2010. As a Sergeant she served in Patrol and Professional Standards Unit.   She was promoted to Lieutenant in 2013 and assigned to the Support Services Division. On October 2, 2014, Captain Taylor became the first female Police Captain in the history of the Department when she was promoted Captain.  Captain Taylor has received 39 Department/Citizen commendations and has been designated the Department’s Officer of the Month twice.  She was also the recipient of the Kiwanis Officer of the Quarter two times. 

Captain Taylor holds a B.S. Degree in Organizational Management from Palm Beach Atlantic University and is a Graduate of University of Louisville, Southern Police Institute, Administrator’s Officer Development course where she was Valedictorian.
