Operations
The Operations Division is the core of the Fire Rescue Department. Its mission is to protect life and property through fire protection and suppression, pre-hospital care, and mitigation of emergencies.

There are three operational shifts, each working 56 hours per week (24-hour day on duty, two 24-hour days off duty). The shifts each have an operating staff of 1 Battalion Chief, 5 Operations Lieutenants, 5 Driver Engineers, and a combination of 6 Firefighter/Paramedic or Firefighter/EMT certified personnel.

The main functions of the Operations Division include:
• Fire Suppression
• Emergency Medical Services (Advanced Life Support Transport)
• Fire Command and Control
• Salvage and Overhaul
• Contingency / Operational Planning
• Pre-Incident Plans and Inspections
• Technical Rescue and Support
• Confined Space Rescue
• High Angle Rescue
• State-wide Disaster Response
• Mutual Aid to neighboring fire rescue agencies.
