Flagler Bridge Replacement
flaglerThe Flagler Memorial Bridge Replacement Project includes replacing the existing bridge with a new bascule bridge connecting the Town of Palm Beach and the City of West Palm Beach over the Lake Worth Lagoon and the Intracoastal Waterway. The new bridge will be a four-lane divided bridge, which will include two 12-foot wide travel lanes in each direction, an eight-foot wide shoulder on each side, and a 15.5-foot median. There will also be an eight-foot wide sidewalk on each side. Pedestrian traffic will be separated by permanent concrete barrier walls.

Throughout the replacement project, the current Flagler Bridge will maintain one eastbound lane and one westbound lane open with no restrictions.  The north sidewalk is open with access from Flagler Drive but not from Quadrille or Olive. The estimated cost of this project is $94.2 million and construction is expected to be complete in late 2016.

This section of the Town’s website has been developed to include specific information about the traffic management efforts throughout the duration of the replacement project.   Please check the website for updates and sign up for “Emergency Traffic Alerts” by clicking on the “Stay Informed” button on the home page and follow the prompts to register your email and cell phone number to receive the latest information. Please note that emergency alerts will only be issued when there is an unexpected incident that impacts traffic and not for the normal daily fluctuations of congestion levels during the rush hour periods.
