Ocean Outfall Abandonment Project Update

The Town of Palm Beach has awarded a contract to Johnson-Davis, Inc. for the Ocean Outfalls Abandonment Project.

As part of the Palm Beach Island Beach Management Agreement (BMA), the Town is required to remove outfalls directly discharging to the beach.  Each outfall identified within this project represents a location where runoff is discharged to the beach through either a stormwater pipe or an open overland connection in a manner that promotes sand erosion.  This construction project will provide a modification to the existing infrastructure to redirect the discharges away from the beach and replace the existing drainage through the installation of new exfiltration trenches. Work began on Monday, June 12, 2017, and is scheduled for completion no later than Friday, September 1, 2017.  The table below includes the tentative location and schedule for each phase of work.
