Lake Trail Improvements Project Begins Tuesday, May 30

The Town of Palm Beach has awarded a contract to R&D Paving, LLC for the Lake Trail Pavement Improvements Project.  This project is part of the 2013 Accelerated Capital Improvements Program, which includes a variety of planned Public Works infrastructure projects.

The Lake Trail is a multi-purpose paved pathway, which runs parallel to the seawall along the Intracoastal Waterway from Royal Palm Way to Esplanade Way.  The approximate five (5) miles of asphalt pavement has received asphalt overlays and top coating applications for many years, along with other patch repairs for temporary localized maintenance.  There has never been a full restoration of the Lake Trail and therefore it is in varying degrees of disrepair throughout the length of the trail.  The planned construction will repair and improve these deficiencies.  Work will begin on May 30 and completed no later than October 13, 2017.

The objective is to complete the work in five (5) phases with two project crews working on the Lake Trail most of the summer, and a 3rd crew added in late August to complete the section through Bradley Park.  See the attached map for more information.  The table below includes the tentative scope and schedule for each phase of work.
