Town Asks Property Owners To Participate In Online Survey To Improve Town Internet

The Town of Palm Beach is sending out community-wide postcards to property owners about an online survey being conducted to improve Town internet. The survey is part of a larger Fiber Optic Feasibility Study that was commissioned as part of the Undergrounding of Utilities Project.

The Fiber Optic Feasibility Study is being conducted by Magellan Advisors. The company will consult the Town on the best approach to provide residents broadband technology and the infrastructure needed to do so. Magellan Advisors, as part of the study, will look at how the installation cost of broadband could be reduced, how smart poles could be utilized, the capabilities of fiber optic cables, and the successes other municipalities have had by installing fiber optic technology. The online survey is one part of the feasibility study and needs the participation of Town property owners to be completed successfully.

Participation in the online survey will assist Magellan Advisors in identifying the Town’s current internet needs, ways internet service can be improved, opportunities to reduce costs, and how improved Town-Wide broadband can enhance other Town services; including public safety. The survey, which takes less than 7 minutes to complete, must be completed from residents’ homes or business within the Town of Palm Beach.

Those interested in participating in the survey can follow the instructions below.

Step 1: Follow this link: http://undergrounding.info/broadband/

Step 3: Answer the questions in the survey. Responses are kept confidential.
